Self-confidentpeopledon’tunderminetheirownworthbycomparingthemselveswithothers,onlytoconcludethattheyaren’t“goodenough”.Theyappreciatetheirstrengthsandaccomplishmentsandcanacknowledge,withoutembarrassment,theirweaknesses.Theydon’tliveinthe“victim”position.Evenifsomethingreallybadhasoccurred,theyturnitintoachallenge,rememberingtobegratefulforthelittlethingsinlife.
Self-confidentpeoplelettheworldknowwhotheyare.Iftheywantsomethingbadlyenough,theyknowtheyhaveeveryrightto“goforit.”Yet,theyalsoknowthatthepathwillrarelybeeasy.Mistakes,blundersandfailuresarepartofthelearningprocess.Theyseektolearnfromtheirmistakesanddonotwastetimetorturingthemselvesoverwhat“couldhavebeen”.
Self-confidentpeoplearenotobstinatepeople.Iftheyhaveanideaaboutsomethinganditdiffersfromthewayanotherpersonisthinkingaboutit,theywillusuallytrytolookatitfromthatperson’spointofview,seewhyitmakessensetothem.Yet,aconfidentperson’ssenseofselfisgrounded.Itdoesnotblowinthewind.Theirideasdonotfluctuatebasedonwhatothersdeemareimportant.
